Change of plans - "Meet in the middle"
Due to construction on Wurzbach Parkwway closing off the trail exit, and a trail run in McAllister Park this morning, we will meet at Lady Bird Johnson Park (10700 Nacogdoches Road).
From LBJ park I suggest we head out to McAllister Park first. This is 5 miles round trip. Let's do this first since the boardwalk is not shaded. After getting back to LBJ park we will head down to Tobin Park (3 miles round trip). Large sections of this trail are shaded.

Urban hike - Salado Creek Greenway North (Mc Allister, LBJ and Tobin parks)
This greenway features four miles of trail among scenic natural landscapes and includes a unique 3,400-foot boardwalk that runs along a Salado Creek wetland area by Nacogdoches Road.
The trail is linked to the Salado Creek Greenway North segment that runs from the Tobin Park trailhead at Loop 410 to Rittiman Road. In the future the trail will be linked westward along the new segments of Wurzbach Parkway.
We will meet at the McAllister Park - DOG PARK - trailhead parking lot at 8:15 am. From there we will walk to LBJ park (2.5 miles), and then on to Tobin Park (1.5 miles). The total out-and-back distance is 8 miles. Feel free to turn around and head back whenever you need to.
I will lead a fast paced group that will do the entire 8 miles.
Dogs are Ok on this hike, so bring a canine friend if you have one.
The trails are pretty flat with only a few small hills. Be sure to bring plenty of water for yourself and your cannine friend if you are bringing one. Some parts of the trail are shaded, but most of the boardwalk is in the sun.
The parking lot is on Buckhorn Lane, about 1/2 mile north of Wurzback Parkway / Starcrest Drive on the south side of McAllister Park.
