So why should you give up 2 glorious prime time sleeping in hours of your Saturday to help clean up a road?
Well, because you have been hiking at Eisenhower Pk. for years. You enjoy meeting friends there. It grants you some serenity to drive down N.W. Military in a litter-free environment, windows open, breeze in your face, and get some air. You've never paid a penny to enjoy the handiwork other volunteer groups have done, like creating beautiful paths and observation decks ( courtesy of the Optimist Club ). You know you always feel better after a hike.You wanna give back something, and the group of folks who do this every year-the Parrot Head Club, "party with a purpose" and always have a Jimmy Buffet song in their hearts and smiles on their faces.
Research studies prove hiking while spearing trash burns calories and slims u down super fast.......:), and helps you hit all the notes perfectly when belting out "Wasted away again in Margaritaville".
